Recently i was finding one of the Famous place in Nashik city in India. As usual i typed in Google Maps and set the Direction. For the first time ever i reached to wrong place through Google Maps, I was soo disappointed.
Afterwards i decided i will find this place and go there and correct the map pointer there. Somehow i reached to the destination place and i had my word done first.
Then when i was correcting the Map Location Pointer of that place, i found that +5 points message was coming for edit and in suggest an edit option it is written Your edit is been reviewed.
Then I checked my profile for Edits, there i found no data for the Edit I have made also I have not received any mail.
Then i have tried several other edits on same place also on other places and the same happened.
So, Overall what I observed is My Edits are Not going for review or Google is not Considering my Edits.
Why it is happening with me, can you help me with the same?
The Google algorithms analyse different factors, such as the information submitted, the location of the input, your mapping activity, and other factors to make sure everything added to the map is accurate and follows our guidelines.
There are regions around the world where there simply is not enough information for some edits to come through successfully or immediately and it certainly has nothing to do with you personally. The more information you (or other Local Guides) collect about a place gives your input a better chance of getting through.
If you haven’t checked this post, feel free to do it, as it lays down different aspects, which I’m sure you’ll find helpful!
At present, Google Maps is not sending any push messages on edits.
Further, the email response also can be delayed.
I noted, it can take up to ten minutes to receive an email on an edit.
However, if I do not receive any mail on a particular day, I stop suggesting edits. It’s better to wait and try that on another day when the servers are responsive.
We may see the response saying “You earned five points” etc. However, the server fails to register that.
BTW, can you share a link to the location for which you were attempting an edit?
