I have not looked at it yet. I don’t think I’m actually very interested in it but it will certainly have to check it out.

Interesting @Rednewt74
I didn’t receive such an email yet.
But are you sure it is really from the Local Guides team? I see no element of the Local Guides team in it or any official email address.
It seems other friends also received this email. For example here.
Why they should send an email for general use of the Bard when it is already available to all, and contains Local Guides? Is it any specific section of it?
Anyway, using generative AIs for Local Guides is still a complicated and ongoing topic to discuss.
I got it too, and I guess it is just a marketing effort.
I wonder if there will be anything specifically LG-related when using Bard. Using Bard for creating reviews is probably not a good idea ![]()
Cheers
Morten
I have very mixed feelings about using AI for assisting in writing. I am curious about if there’s things specific for guides and I agree that it might be problematic to use it for writing a review. I suppose you could use it as a thesaurus so that one’s vocabulary seems better and less repetitive. ![]()
Take a listen to @JanVanHaver 's latest podcast episode. Find it here:

During the News section, he mentioned that Reviews in other products than Maps already have in place a new guideline to ban AL reviews and AI-assisted reviews. And he predicts this will hit Maps reviews also.
Cheers
Morten
I can now confirm that the email is part of a marketing campaign to recruit more Bard users.
All the best
Morten
Finally, I also received the email.
Thanks @MortenCopenhagen
I hope Googlers are more pioneers than others in using AI for Local Guides and consider all aspects before it’s too late.

@Rednewt74 I’ve been using Bard since the March test program and I have become a huge fan. It’s far from perfect, but a great product that can truly simplify your day. There is a small learning curve, now… but the initial launch was a real struggle! They’ve made it better with each update. I’ve learned to be specific when I want my specifics. Always give him a thumbs up for a great answer, that way he knows you really liked it. It will learn your preferences fairly quickly, as well.
I utilize Bard to write all my estimates and correspondence emails with my clients.
I use Bard to create new recipes for my jam business
I use Bard to create dinner recipes
I use Bard to create lists for Maps when I travel
Fastest way to find a cheap flight, ever.
If I’m bored and want to learn 5 paragraphs about toasters from the 1900s - he’s got me covered!
I honestly think you’d like it and become fast friends.
I’m glad to hear your positive feedback on Bard.
Some how using AI to write is intimidating to me. Are there any tutorials or places that you would recommend on how to get started using it?
