Google Hosted Meet-Up: Wing Luke Museum in Seattle, WA

The National Park Service is observing its centennial this summer. To celebrate, we are leading Google-hosted meet-ups in national parks and historic sites around the country from August 20-28.

Date: Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Location: Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience

Who: You, me, and any other Local Guides

How: REGISTER HERE

Please join me and other Local Guides at the Wing Luke Museum on Tuesday, August 23rd at 2:45pm. We are going on a guided “Touch of Chinatown” tour through Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. We’ll smell the fragrance of Chinese herbs, hom bows and roasted duck, and learn about the facts, myths and legends of the area.

If you are interested in coming early and going through the full museum ahead of our tour, let me know! We can work out a time to meet in the comments below and I’ll update this post with the details

Can’t join us? Host your own meet-up! There are hundreds of national parks and historic sites across the US—rally fellow Local Guides for an adventure near you.

Your meet-up sounds fantastic. Whenever I visit a new city, I gravitate towards Chinatown for the exact items you highlighted in your post. I can’t wait to follow along on social media from my vacation.

Local Guides, please be sure to post using #LocalGuides for me!

This is awesome! I see that the tour is during the afternoon; are there meet up activities planned for later in the afternoon (after 5:00p)? Working 8-5 makes this a little difficult to attend. :frowning:

@misterkchung Our meet-up will consist of the tour (which ends at 5pm) and anyone who wants to check out the museum with me earlier in the day. If you or another Local Guide wants to plan an unofficial “after-party” somewhere, I’ll be in town
