I’m Brett, a designer at Google and fellow Local Guide here in the Bay Area. I’ll be hosting a photowalk at Muir Woods this Sunday, August 28th. Just wanted to kick off a thread to introduce myself to those attending (and received a confirmation email) so we can connect with each other before we meet up.
I’ll be posted up by the Visitor Center, wearing a teal Local Guides tee. Please try to arrive by 10AM so we can all get started together.
Can’t wait to see you all there!

Yep! There’s actually a shuttle from Sausalito (by the ferry) that runs on weekends. There are two (9:05 & 9:25) that should get you in by 10.

Hi there, I registered when the event was posted but as of yet have not gotten any kind of note. I actually didn’t even get a confirmation that I had put my name in the hat. Have all the confirmations been sent? Thank for your feedback.

So the park has had extreme traffic the last few days - with both parking lots filling up by 9:30, plan to arrive EARLY or to ride the shuttle into the park, which I believe is $15, but may be more.

Will we need to pay an entrance feel? What will it cost?
I learned that there is no cell phone reception. Are we going to take pictures offline or how will that work? Also people should make plans to not have cell phone availability.
So bummed but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to make it 
Feeling a bit sick as I woke up this morning, so taking it easy considering I have to travel for work tomorrow.

Parking at Muir Woods is FULL! Use the shuttle!
$5 round trip, paid at the Visitor Center along with the $10 park entrance fee. 9:25 shuttle is the next available but it will fill quickly as this one did. See you all there!
Unless I somehow missed the bus passing me, I don’t think there was a 9:25. Sorry for missing the meetup, still going to go since I’m over here… Whenever the bus comes. Hopefully I can make another in the future.
Shuttles fill quick and are running behind, so myself and a few others are going to be late, I’m willing to bet!

Thanks to everyone who attended today— had a blast meeting you all. Muir Woods was amazing!

Thanx for organizing @BrettP , it was quite a bit of fun! I’ve never seen Muir Woods from the elevated path. I am looking forward to future meet-ups hosted by local guides near and far. Peace TC
