Google Hosted Meet-Up: Canaveral National Seashore

Hello! For those of you who may not already know me, I’m Traci, a Local Guides community manager based out of our New York City office. I’ll be hosting the meet-up at Canaveral National Seashore this Saturday, August 20. I’m starting this thread so those who are attending (and received a confirmation email) can connect with one another in advance of the meet-up.

This is me though I’ll be wearing a teal Local Guides t-shirt this Saturday:

Please do plan to arrive by 10:00am on Saturday. It’s going to be hot (as usual) and in order to pay for everyone’s entrance fees, we must enter as a group (led by me, of course).

I look forward to meeting you all!

I look forward to this event but i’m still a bit unsure of what we are actually doing when we are there, the information i got said it was a “walk” so just wanted to ask for a little more clarification about the “walk”?

Agreed with TommyB. And in actuality, my legs are a little weak currently so I may be slower than most. Is it problem if we only do part of the walk, etc… Thanks.

I am very much looking forward to this! Is it possible to invite anptbef person to this? If not, that’s fine. See you soon!

Hi! Can I bring the hubby? I didn’t see a spot to list him on the original rsvp, only a spot for kiddos. Thanks!

That’s a good question; just got a follow-up email saying they’re booked to capacity. If someone else wanted to go, could they just purchase a single ticket and tag along?

Hello all, I am wonder in there’s anyone else that is planning on going there by themselves? I’m pretty shy, so wanted to connect in advance!

I am going by myself. I just moved to Florida so I haven’t made any friends outside of work. See you there!

The forecast is calling for a high of 94 with a chance of scattered thunderstorms. Wear something that’s gonna wick away that moisture, my friends.

Hi @Aliciaadorada , @JessicaF , @WilliamM_1 , we are at capacity for this event. It isn’t a matter of cost (so having your friend/spouse pay for themselves isn’t the issue), it’s a matter of space. Children are welcome but please don’t bring any adult +1s.

@TommyBayshore and @AnthonyM_1 , I’ll let Traci respond if necessary but it really is a walk along the beach — not a vigorous hike or workout. That being said, please take care if you feel your legs aren’t up for it.

@TimG_1 is right — be sure to hydrate and dress for the weather!

@TommyB and @AnthonyM It will indeed be quite relaxed, not to worry.

I’m looking forward to this meet up. I will also be coming up alone. How many are in the total group?

@RobertC_1 We don’t typically share space information but all of the Google-hosted meet-ups will be around 20 people.

Hi, I live in Lady Lake in Central Florida and wondered if anyone wants to carpool? It’s a two hour drive from Lady Lake. If you might be interested, please private message me. Also, I will have my metal detector in the car and will be going on the beach with it afterwards if anyone wants to join me.

@PatPatten I look forward to meeting you. As this is a public forum I went ahead and removed your email address but people can use the private messaging feature to reach you. See you tomorrow and safe travels!!

I’m here at the meeting point, Sand Point Park. When you enter the park, go to the left and I’m right under the palm tree in a gray Mazda 3:

Sorry I missed this. I should have put a manual entry on my Google Calendar, since I live by it.
