Google has removed almost all of my reviews

I recently decided to check on my reviews. Google has removed almost all of them, including positive ones that had already received a response from businesses. I don’t know how to reach out to Google since there’s no help desk. Also: My Local Guides points stopped moving. I leave reviews and it remains stagnant at 5,000. Obviously they don’t want me to continue with the program after years of contributing but I wanted to understand why I was banned without being given a reason.

I don’t ever post personal information.

Hi Natalia, @nyepes88 , “Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect”. This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here.

Thank you for asking, and sorry about your issue. In fact I see that you have 32 hidden reviews and 70 hidden photos

I am mentioning also Photos because sometimes the reason why a review is blocked is related to a media not approved by the AI.

For reviews related to places in the EU the Local Guides are usually notified about the hidden reviews and photo, with a general indication about what to do, usually to edit the review or to remove a photo, but when the removal is related the text we usually have the possibility to appeal.

For reviews related to places outside the EU you will have to find the hidden reviews/photos by yourself. You can do it by opening this link in a web browser in Incognito Mode, and to compare it with your private profile (the one that you see when you are logged in in Google Maps).

What to do next:

Fix potential issues: As you can read in Flag and fix inappropriate content "If a review you wrote has been flagged and removed, you can fix it yourself.Edit your review to follow Google review policies — for example, you might remove a phone number or URL from the review. Your review will be automatically republished. This is a general indication. My suggestion is to check if a hidden review has attached photo, and to check if the photos are visible in incognito mode. If not, as a first step remove the photos, and check if the review is now published

  • Published: Add the photos one by one to see which one is triggering the filter
  • Not Published: try to edit the text

If after this procedure some review id not published, check the next step.

Appeal: you can appeal for the team to check your profile. please read An update on how we moderate Google Maps reviews to find the appeal form.

Please be aware that points are given for every posted review / photo, it doesn’t matter if the content is visible or not. So the reason for the point not increasing should be another one.

I suggest you to take note of the changes in your contribution list, and to take note of the related points. If the contributions change but the points remains the same, please write another post for this specific subject.

The place where we usually ask for help is How Tos. You can easily change the topic of your post with a simple edit. If you need help, please read Edit your post - Why and How To

Do you have a doubt about how to do something? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.
