Google Guides program means nothing to me, however....

At the moment the guide program is like a baby in an incubator, delicate without direction or a guaranteed future. I say that because there is a major lack of incentives to the guides for the program exploding to its full potential. Although I have some photos with high views, there is nothing to really keep me contributing. I believe with the name & resources fully backing up the program it can turn into a much much greater network. Connecting people with real reviews from normal people that can create small blogs of their specialties or expertease. Let’s say for example that google decides to fully hire a certain percentage of guides to do this full time and accurately improve the whole mapping system through them. Also bringing fresh updates and reviews seen more than on any other review site? Would that not be worth all the traffic we can create? If google paid the travelling expenses and documentation fees + a decent wage it could be something MASSIVE. A way for regular people to travel and contribute at the same time. Of course the standard for reviews, photos, videos, etc etc would also have to be updated and made a requirement. This is my opinion on the matter, excuse me for being blunt, I like to be upfront.

Thank you for your time & consideration.
