I’m new to Google Guides and just wanted to say “hey” to all the other Local Guides out there. Can you guys give me some advice on how to get started and some other tips to really make a big impact out of the gate?
Thanks in advance!

Hello @TheHarm , glad to see you here. If you want to find out more about Connect, this post will probably be a good starting point.
For getting some tips on how to be a well behaving, yet highly performing Local Guide, you could listen to some episodes of the LetsGuide Podcast
Now you have the tips on how to get started @TheHarm
Yet, your expectation of tips on how to make a significant impact is thought-provoking.
Still, it’s not clear where you want to see that impact, means in Maps or Connect.
On Maps platform there are many LGs who have picked all the badges and along with that grabbed more than 1) a million points, 2) twenty million photo views and 3) 10 K likes to reviews.
But then, what is the everlasting impact of that?
There are billions of persons who use Maps daily but do not know the LG program, leave aside any impressive LG.
On Connect also, participants strive for badges, likes, comments. Feel elated when their post gets featured or becomes trending.
But then does that create an enduring impact?
Hence, you have to be clear what are you expecting from Maps & Connect.
Thank you, my dear friend, for the nice and good advice
But I am not looking for fame
Well, my friend, I will do. It’s easy for me, but I don’t care about that because I have something more important than that.
