Google Drive 11 GB already used ... WHERE?

Hi google folks,

long time ago i already asked this question a first time, but got no useful answer. Now i have seen the problem again.

When i look at my google drive, it tells me that 11 gb are already used. By Google Photos.

Google Drive 0.01 gb

gmail 0.02 gb

google photos 11.06 gb

Hmmm. Then i click to google Photos, and 21 photos are shown. Thats what it should be. Each of the photos are the usual size, between 1 and 5 megabyte. Giving a total of approximately 100 megabyte.

So where is the difference between real 100 mb and phantasized 11 gb located? Are they all the thousands of spheres and poi fotos i uploaded since i got a business view fotographer? If yes, they shouldnt burden my google drive.

greetings from germany

Chris

Hi @ChristianStuben

I think you will have much better chances of getting useful help on the Google Drive Help pages.

Cheers

Hello @ChristianStuben

Possibly, you are having a contention that the photos uploaded to Maps are consuming some space on Google Drive.

It appears that you are posting photos from a desktop or something, instead of the ones from Google Photos.

Nevertheless, these will appear in the album archive and then may occupy space on your Google drive.

You can check that at https://get.google.com/albumarchive/

Posting from Google photos would have eliminated that problem as even high definition quality photos occupy zero space.

Hi Morten,

thank you for the hint. I asked there, and now i am waiting for reply.

Hi c_t,

i now had a loock at the albumarchive. There i see approximately 20 to 30 pictures including some very old uploads, but not the thousands i loaded to business view / streetview.

Greetings from germany
