So… i have a Galaxy S10+ with Tmobile… ive always had Galaxy’s and Note’s and never had a issue. One thing i really liked alot was when i would get a notification prompting me to take pictures, it was say something like “are you at this place now?” and if it hit yes i could take some pics and upload, write a review etc… that prompting has went away, about 6 months ago and i really enjoyed it, now i forget to add places, is there a way to get it to prompt me again?

The possible reasons may be due to some change in the following settings
Location is on.
Location mode is high accuracy.
Maps app has permission to know the current location.
Web and App Activity is on.
Auto-sync is on.
And lastly, the net connectivity is uninterrupted.

Thank you for reaching out.
Please make sure that you Location is turned on: Manage your Android device’s location settings.
Once you have done that, go to your Settings and find the Google Maps App. Review the notifications that you may or may not receive. In order to receive notifications about the places you have visited, you need to Manage Your Location History.
Follow these tips and let us know if you have any further issues.

In addition to what suggested by @MoniDi , you can also check your setting for notifications @TommyBayshore
From the Hamburger menu, go to Setting > Notification > Your contributions.
In there you will find the list of the notification that you can receive, including to be prompted for photos.
@MoniDi , I cannot find this set of setting on the help, I believe we need to update it

Thanks! I went into all settings and a TON of options were set to SILENT, i turned many to pop out with sound so ill see and report back! It should prompt you to upload a picture correct?

Your info looks promising but i cant find the hamburger menu (with 3 bars), just settings and in there nothing about contributions?

I was able to find the notifications for suggestions about new places that you visit in the Settings of my Google Maps App. From there you go to Your Contributions where you will be able to find Ideas for contributing. Make sure to turn it on.
And one more thing, if you want to tag me or other Local Guide, don’t forget to write @ before their names so that we receive notifications.

My app is giving me a lot of notification, according to where I am, from places that doesn’t have photos to places where the phone number is missing. I have turned all my notification to ON
