Google couldn't verify your edits.

In 2019 or early 2020, Kum & Go became a Circle K. I know or once knew Google Maps. Each time that I attempt to remove Kum & Go as a duplicate or no longer there, I am unable. The last time that I tried, Google couldn’t verify my edits. I believe Circle K has the same phone number listed as Kum & Go used. That is a number I cannot fix since I do not know on the Circle K side. I provided this the last time with a photo taken from Google Maps and received this message again. What must I do to get Kum & Go removed? Please forgive the name.

Circle K has an address of 6201 Colonel Glenn Rd, Little Rock, AR 72204. Both is on the map. That is my problem. I report many gas prices using GasBuddy. That is one reason I wish this updated in Google Maps. The other is to improve Google Maps. I took photo spheres using my phone and added using Street View. Oh, Circle K is placed as a convenience store where the pumps are. Kum & Go is between the convenient store and pumps. That is my problem. Should that help, refer to OpenStreetMap. I updated that as best as able. I wait for my no before trying again. Those were some examples below.

Sharing some link would help to save time in checking @Androoh , BTW… I have made a search, and I think you are referring to these two businesses, both on 6201 Colonel Glenn Rd, Little Rock:

I see you have tried a “merge”, but really you would had to suggest a “close”.

  • Merge should be suggested when a Business is uploaded more than once, because all the photos and reviews are related to “the same” business
  • Close should be suggested when a Business is replaced by another one, because all the photos and reviews are related to “the previous” business, and should not be on the new one

The real issue you may find in trying to edit the old business, is that both (old an new) places are claimed.

I think the best option you have is to contact Google My Business Help Community , explaining the issue and providing the links to the businesses

Hello ermest,

I did as you suggested with the screenshot taken from Google Maps in Street View. Hopefully, that will remove the former business. Should I flag each picture that shows Kum & Go in Street View as needing to be updated too? I do not update the entire world with Street View app.

Thanks

Hi @Androoh

No, you don’t need to flag the street View photos. The street view Team will update the photos according to their schedule in any case. The important thing to do is to report on GMB community, because both POIs are claimed

If you want to share something with them, use these two links of the same sign

@ErmesT , I have the problem that neither business there is associated with me. I do not have a Google Business Community Page to use. The most recent time I flagged I was “Not Applied” because of the same reason. I called a different Circle K to get a telephone number. The one I called answered Circle K as expected. When I asked for a phone number, the person stated that the store where they are is a name-brand Circle K where the other is a franchise Circle K. The person does not know the number or may not share the number and knows Google Maps does not contain it. I tried BBB and received Kum & Go’s old number. That is my problem. I do not know how to follow your instructions. I did visit the page you suggested.

The other is this is listed as temporarily closed. The picture is from the southeast. That was not a way that vehicles could use to enter or exit before the name changed.

Thanks for the feedback, @Androoh

I try to explain the meaning of what I shared to you: a business listings on Google Maps can be managed, by claiming it. When a business is claimed, the possibility for a Local Guide have an edit approved is obviously reduced.

The claimed businesses are part of a specific program: Google My Business.

For them there is a different community: Google My Business Help Community That’s why I suggested you to write the same post in there: because it is up to them to fix the issue.

The two 360 photo that I shared with you are clearly showing how the old business has been replaced by a new one, but you will have to write your post in there.

In any case I will tag @DeniGu to see if she can escalate this clear issue on the appropriate team

@ErmesT ,

You would actually be surprised. Let me take some screenshots from Google Maps in Street View from several miles or kilometers away. This might show what I mean better. A good job updating around Circle K was not done. See what I mean. This is the result. Along Colonel Glenn Road is the same way. That is why I asked about reporting the photo spheres that still show the old business.

This shows what I mean. I had to lower the resolution. I have Street View on the phone. We have rain today, but I think I gave the needed information on the Google My Business. Trying to speak to a person is almost impossible without an account. I gave feedback describing what I wished to do.

Hi @Androoh ,

Thank you for reaching out. Please note that I’ve accepted @ErmesT 's reply as the solution because it gives a complete answer to your question, and suggests the right action to take in this case: to reach out on the Google My Business forum.

For more information about the status of your edits, please check out the “Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?” article. Thank you.

@DeniGu , I finally was able to do as suggested to hopefully have this closed business listed as such. How much time needs to elapse on average before the closed business is listed as closed? I know the time varies.

Hi @Androoh ,

There’s no specific timeframe for this. We appreciate your understanding and patience!

My edit to this hospital never got accepted even in images it’s clearly stating the hospital name as Subdivisional Hospital, Madhupur not referral hospital, Madhupur. Can someone from Google help me out to figure this and also help to remove the duplicate hospital associated with same name ?
