Google Colours Plastic Craft

I am trying to resume little by little my busy activities on local guides connect forum. I got very busy with my mission work and activities but now am fully back again. I always like to share very interesting posts and discoveries as soon as I come across them. I also want to have a little change from my very busy TRAC EVENT ,congratulations again to all involved. Looking forward to the Official closing date and meet up all being well.

Now I found this plastic craft and colour combination very fascinating. Especially when they are Google colours,it quickly caught my attention. What more,it was done by a little boy in the neighborhood of my residence here. I got very curious and inquisitive. I wanted to learn how he did it. This craft and colourful work is simply done by using plastics from bottles. The little rings under the bottle tops. Its sealed together with the bottle cover. Therefore when you open a plastic bottle,it is left behind on the bottle neck. No big technical know how involved no machine etc. Just a creative finger and little time as well.

Another very fascinating thing about this is the fact that it’s a very good way of managing plastics. Instead of littering the environment it could be used for good crafts like this. I tried learning it and having a bit of fun with the little boy. I’m not sure how much I’ve learned but I learned a little from him how to make this. I tried some part of it and then returned it to him to continue it because I was busy and couldn’t concentrate much. Nevertheless it was very inspiring watching him work. One very important information is that there are at least 200 pieces of those little plastic rings in the little table mat fabricated.

It was quite interesting working with him today. I like the simplicity of the craft not complicated at all. It takes time though,to make that table mat took about an hour in total. There are various things one can fabriate using those little plastic bottle rings. He told me you can make a bag, purse, key holder etc. I really love the innovation. I envied his little fingers working away and having fun at the same time.

Oh

This also brings back fresh memories of my own childhood. When we had no worries nor stress. When life was sleep and play. When we were so busy with nothing. When we made friends all around on the streets. When we had great ambitions and hope for life. When life was just good…

Hope you enjoyed the post and like the little plastic table mat my little friend made.

Hi @SholaIB its interesting to see your crafting. Especially with Google’s color patterns, it’s very attractive.

What will the final result be used for? for decoration or for other uses?

I’m Ismi from Indonesia. In Indonesia, we also have a traditional game of stringing rubber using almost the same method, we use for jumping rope.

Hi @Ismi_Choirunnisa

Thank you for the introduction so nice to meet you here on connect. Thank you for asking too. The final result is a table mat. A table mat is used on the dinning table or kitchen table for placing sauce pan etc.

I know the one you are talking about for jumping ropes. Nice and find childhood memories.

Thank you @SholaIB for the explanation. Happy to se and hear it. Enjoy crafting.

saludos Farid

yes @FaridTDF

It’s a very leisure and relaxing hobby for the little kid. Although I tried to learn and relax too I was busy some other things in the house.

I have an idea of how to weave the table mat anyway. You will need to gather those plastic rings from all around the neighborhood and that’s no small task.

Thank you for the photos you shared. I was attracted to the thing as a result of the colour as well.
