Google clearly not attempting to verify edits

I’m not sure how to make Google actually look at the information that I am attaching as documentation to make two very obvious changes in Washington, DC. The first has a statue marker located in the wrong place. While the marker is in the wrong place, it has the address correct. But it refuses to move the maker even though all the comments say exactly the same thing. I have tried moving the marker to where it’s supposed to be as well as adding the website. There’s even a phone number they could call and ask the National Park Service.

The second is the name AND location of the Old Post Office Tower. The name that it has is a Smithsonian museum in a different part of town. I have attached a photo OF THE NAME. Again linked it to the correct websites and tried moving the map marker to the correct location. If they made ANY attempt to verify this, they could correct it. As before, there is a phone number to call if they think it’s incorrect.

Not sure what to do. They are SO wrong and it’s very confusing having things misnamed AND mislocated. And yes, I’ve submitted the edits separately for each and submitted several times.

Is there a way to get a human to look at it?

Thanks.

Hi @MsRondaB

You are dealing with a computer who’s main purpose is to block spam. There are no humans on the othere end.

Please read Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”? if you haven’t already done so.

You may also find How to make sense of Google’s responses to your edits interesting since Approved, Not applied, and Pending are explained in more detail.

When you repeatedly submit the same edit this will trigger the spam filter.

The way to get a human to look at this is to make a post in the Maps support forum.

Hit the Community tap at the top and make a post. You need to attach or link to official documentation supporting the change you are proposing. Then a volunteer experts will try to help you. If needed they can escalate issues to Google staff.

Cheers
Morten
