Google classifies my Reviews as unapropiated.

Hi all,

I was local Guide Level 7 with 140 written reviews and hundres of uploaded photos over the last 10 years.

Today I have seen that many of my reviews were not published any more for not understandsble reasons. I did not receive even a notification of the “unpublished status”.

Simple Reviews with 5 Stars for example just saying “Great food , nice staff, parking available”. Plus 5 Photos. Nothing special.

Many of my reviews are not any more published for any unknown reason.

One of my reviews were even flagged with “Google does not allow paid reviews”.

I never was paid by anybody to write a review. I never received any advantage. I wrote my reviews to help the community.

Now Its time to say Goodbye as Local Guide. I am not willig to accept that Google says that I am paid by third parties to write reviews or wasting my time with reviews which are unpublished after a while. I deleted all my history, reviews and photos. If honest & real reviews are not appreciated by Google: I have to accept it. It is their house. I am just a guest.

I even reported a duplicated place and this report was not accepted…I do own a company in Madrid and somebody added a place (“Bike Ride”) in Madrid to Google Maps. Since 2007 this place is already added called “Trixi Madrid SL”. No clue why my report was not accepted - and to be honest: I am tired to post fair, real, human generated reviews or reporting places and the reviews / reported places are not accepted.

I do not have the time to filling out everyday forms to complain and open an “Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps”

Google: You have a lot of money - but you lost my respect. You should treat your local guides with respect.

Work on your algo. It is failing a lot.

Have a nice day.

You lost 140 honest reviews and I a lost the ilusion to help the community to make a helpful Google Maps.

Bye.

It’s unfortunate for them, they lost a beneficial contributor! They take certain measures to ensure that all ratings and reviews are authentic and reliable by experience. There are numerous reasons as to why people post fake or untrue reviews. Whether it be because they are trying to improve there businesses rating, or because they are just trying to earn as many points as possible, to level up on Google maps. (Which I’m unsure of why anyone would do such a pointless thing, because the only thing that they receive from doing all of that, is the opportunity to call themselves a " level # Local Guide"… Their actions gain absolutely zero benefits. But Google assumes that unless you contribute locally, it must be fake.

Pretty much, either they assumed you were just trying to level up by leaving random reviews, or that you were trying to help the businesses ratings.

Thank you for your message. Yes - everybody hates fake reviews…but I am Googe G-Suite user, having Google maps, geo locaclisation activated…I guess Google knows more about me then my wife - having everyhthing in the Cloud…

The algo of Google should know that I stayed 2 hours in restaurant X or zoologic park Y…

Anyway…
