When we say Hyderabad, the Hyderabadi Biriyani is what comes to everyone’s mind. It was the same for me as well, until and unless I got to better explore the city of Hyderabad during my second visit!
To share my takeaways from the trip would find some space in the LG community in the coming weeks. But I could not wait to share my favourite food places in Hyderabad, so here is a tiny post about them!
- Shadab Hotel: https://goo.gl/maps/MRcXjXSU3fAH9vQM8
I luckily came across the Shadab Hotel while I was hunting for the best Hyderabadi Biriyani places on Youtube. It was an interesting vlog of a Foreigner, which directed me to this authentic place of old Hyderabad. They have a non-AC restaurant downstairs and a well-designed AC restaurant upstairs. It was also interesting to see how they also have several other cubicles in and around the building, where they serve food. It indeed reflects how they planned the building like the olden days where families could sit together and eat.
Although the waiting time could be tiring, it is all worth it.
Must Try: Khubhani ( The dessert made with Apricot)
2.Milan Juice Center : https://goo.gl/maps/Kr1r35Km11PfkoBU7
We reached here coincidentally, without any research. But glad we did reach the right place, which would otherwise be a major miss. Only later did we know that Milan Juice Center was popular enough!
And I hope this picture speaks it all! For milky-fruity dessert lovers, this place is mandatory!
3. Pista House : https://goo.gl/maps/VqFY5deojVMAqrRQ7
Pista House is yet another well-known restaurant in Hyderabad, and we went here for the Zaffrani Tea (Saffron Tea). We went to their branch in Charminar Road, and they have two buildings. One is for all the bakeries, sweets and restaurants and another exclusively for the Tea varieties and Osmania Biscuit.
**4.**Maharaja Hotel : https://goo.gl/maps/KpkmSe3jNQEcpq7v6
To not judge a book by its cover is the lesson I learnt from Maharaja Hotel… LOL! And here is why :
The restaurant is situated in a busy area, in Gachibowli and has so many people around. The looks of the hotel are not so attractive and the interiors are even worse. So, the place does not actually give any good vibes, but surprisingly the food does!
We went there in a hurry to grab some food. So that first day we ordered Roti with Paneer Butter Masala and it just simply got bookmarked in our tastebuds. I was sure to order something again from Maharaja Hotel before I left the city. So for my last dinner from Hyderabad, I chose to get a takeaway from this place and ordered Afghani Chicken with Rumali Roti, and I have zero complaints about the food. I am sure they would win more hearts if they could renovate the place.
PS: If you are a tea lover, and looking to explore its varieties, Hyderabad has got it all. I fell in love with the Irani Chai, which is served in every nook and corner of Hyderabad!
