Go to the Keshet cave in Galilee, Israel!

When visiting the northern district and the Galilee area in Israel, there are some places you really must not miss!! One of these unique places is the Keshet Cave (in Hebrew ‘Keshet’ means a rainbow).Being the highest point of view in the Western Galilee, the Keshet Cave provides visitors with one of the most beautiful views in Israel.

All that remains of the ancient Keshet Cave is a huge arch since most of the cave’s roof has collapsed sometime in the past. However, the immense arch provides a tremendous view of the Mediterranean sea, some Israeli cities like Akko, Haifa, Nahariya, the entire Galilee area, the Carmel Mountain ridge and on a bright day you might get a glimpse of our neighbors in Lebanon.

The arch attracts hundreds of extreme sports enthusiasts who like to rappel from the arch down to the cave floor below. Rappelling from the arch is very popular, due to the 50-meter drop of the arch. For those looking for a thrill, dropping off the side of the cave and swinging under the arch with just the rope between you and the forests way down below is an unforgettable experience!

To those of you arriving in Israel, I recommend visiting this place, and even to taking an extreme tour guide for the rappelling. This experience is fantastic, regardless of your age and physical ability.

I want to offer you to watch a short video about the Keshet Cave and how it looks like, and find some essential information about the rappelling. The video, made by great Israeli local guys, the Pearl brothers, which spend their time traveling around the world, and by channel 11 (the Israeli public broadcasting).

enjoy!!
