Go Loco Podcast - Recap on Episodes 1-8

Hey awesome folks! We’ve just recently released our 8th podcast episode and I thought that it would be a great time to do a short recap on all the episodes that we’ve done so far. We are unofficial and we really want to serve the community and would love to hear your feedback on our podcast! So some quick questions for all of you!

  • Before this episode, have you heard of the Go Loco Podcast?
  • In general, do you listen to podcasts or is this something new for you?
  • Out of the 8 episodes released so far, how many of them have you listened to?
  • Do you like the format where we interview other Local Guides and cover different topics that are related to the program?
  • Do you have any recommendations for us; it could be topics, new format, shorter/longer length?

And as always, if you like what we do, please subscribe to the channel and share to all your Local Guides community. We don’t make any money out of this and we, in fact, spend loads of our own time (and sometimes money) to do this so it would be great to get some feedback on how things are. We would like to make more episodes that serves the community better so go crazy in the comments below!! Thanks in advance!!

Hello @AdrianLunsong ,
There is something great about your success! You suggested me how to learn foreign languages. I have hesitated to attend because I have not studied my basics yet📚, but I will definitely join it!

@NunungAfuah @KhamphoutS Thanks for the positive comments! @YasumiKikuchi We might be speaking a bit too fast on the podcast or the audio quality may not be that great, but do give it a go and hopefully, you can still enjoy the podcast!

@Linnea Tag has been sorted! Sorry for accidentally missing you out!

As always @AdrianLunsong you ROCK, annnnd you’re a serious overachiever!!! You make all of us want to be better at this!!!

It sure isn’t easy! Recording interviews with people that are in the opposite time zone, none of us are pro at this. The fun is in the trying!!! The interviews get better the more you do, same with editing. It’s fun to see the number of listens and the number of countries where they come from. We’re listened to in 20 different countries! That makes me happy, now to get a listen in all the others!

I love all of our Connect Live friends and they are so kind to have helped us to learn how to do it. Now I think we’re ready to chat with a wider range of Local Guides. Anyone got a special project they’d like to talk about??? We would love to hear from you!

I know I’m a bit biased but I love the Podcast and hope you get loads of listeners. I’m really proud of you and the team of amazing people who are keeping this going and your 8th episode is a huge milestone. Most podcasts don’t get past episode 5 before people give up. Love your work @AdrianLunsong @KimberlyAnnG @Pedi @vvbellur @Shirley and the newest team member Linnea who I can’t tag :frowning:

Keep it up and I look forward to many more.

Thanks very much @JaneBurunina @KimberlyAnnG @PaulPavlinovich for the kind words! Podcasting is fun and crazy all rolled into one! The vision for the podcast is to make it an ‘open’ platform where it’s not just restricted to the current team or to Connect Live attendees. As Kimmy mentioned, it would certainly be great to invite more folks to collaborate with to work on different episodes etc. I can imagine the management of that would be tricky but it’s certainly one for the team to think about

I will chat with some of the locals @AdrianLunsong I imagine that there would be several Melbourne Local Guides who would love to talk about our city from a visitors perspective.

Have you ever thought about going live and recording that and giving it a bit of a polish for the podcast?

Using Hangouts Meet (at least one member would need gsuite) or similar could facilitate this.

Hi @AdrianLunsong ,

Your podcasts are excellent - the content, the diction, the audio, the duration (30-45 mins?), the format (with music and fun trivia breaks). I enjoyed listening to a couple of them on my morning walks. I will surely listen to all, one by one. I’d like thank you and your team ( @KimberlyAnnG , @Shirley , @Pedi, @vvbellur @Linnea) for doing a super professional job even tho’ you are all doing this on top of your regular jobs as an avocation.

I am glad you guys are keeping in mind the wisdom of Confucius on holistic learning which goes something like this:

  • I hear and i forget (podcasts)
  • I see and i remember (connect posts)
  • I do and i understand (connect writing 10-day challenge).

As the Brits say, more power to your elbow!

Good luck! God bless.

Cheers!
