Giving Back is a Great Thing!

The way I see it, sharing on Local Guides is a great opportunity to give back. Here is why: I have personally benefited for many years in consuming information shared on Google across many platforms. The reality is that every piece of information on Google is contributed by someone. So after all this time being a consumer, It is refreshing to be a regular contributor.

So here are two photos I took in Esperance, Western Australia sometime in January 2019.

The first one is a photo of one of Western Australia’s largest intact timber jetties constructed during the Great Depression. It is no longer in use but has become even more important. Itt is now protected, having been placed on Western Australia’s State Register of Heritage Places. It sits, beautiful and still in the blue Indian Ocean waters of Esperance. The second photo is the metal plaque, indicating the wooden jetty has a special place in history.

I agree, giving back is a great thing. Like you I have benefited from Google Maps as a consumer for many years and it is really nice now to belong to the community of global contributors. Beautiful photo of the old jetty.

Thank you, Sunnyoz!

Esperance is beautiful, and the little bits of history there just makes the trip worth it.
