Given the Kudos Rule: The limits of kudos per hour of the day.

Hello, My Friends! Local Guides!!

Today I will share the experience of giving kudos. Last week, I was reading Local Guide Connects favorite posts and good comments. I was giving comments and kudos to the well-written ones. Suddenly a Massage. This Message details of the topic below:-

  1. Cannot give more than 500 hundred kudos per hour.
  2. The distance from the first kudos to 2nd kudos must be 10/12 seconds time.

Don’t try to give you more than five hundred kudos per hour of the day. The distance from the first kudos to 2nd kudos is better than 10/12 seconds of time. Otherwise, Auto kudos won’t disappear. Hope you like it @bdmafuz @ShahMdSultan @SaifIS

Hi @Mohammadalauddin

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have recently proposed a minimum of 60 to 120 seconds between likes.

It seems you are proposing an idea, if so please consider using the Idea Exchange where others can vote for your ideas.

Cheers

Wow this is very interesting fact erupted after your robo speed of giving kudos to local guides’ posts.

I am very shocked/surprised that you were giving kudos in less than 10 seconds and 500 kudos in an hour.

You are having amazing speed. Allow yourself to use this speed on other aspect of contributing on Google Maps and Localguideconnect.

Wish you a good luck ahead.

Thank you

@Mohammadalauddin Thank you for sharing your findings. I have known this from one of @C_T 's recent posts. I personally think 500 likes per hour is too much. I think 60 minutes is not sufficient to see 500 photos or read 600 posts/commments. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @Mohammadalauddin ,

thank you for your post.

Please note that this is a built in functionality to prevent spam, it might sound strange but yes this is a spam action as well. Giving 500 kudos in 1 hour it is technically too much as you won’t have time to properly read 500 messages and being valuable messages all of them to receive a kudo. Giving kudos to every message leads to this situation and that’s actually spam.

However if you would like to suggest a change you are more than welcome to post your idea into the Idea Exchange board where the team will evaluate it.

Hi @Mohammadalauddin ,

Thanks for reaching out! I see that other fellow Local Guides have already kindly shared with you their opinion. You should follow their suggestions.

In addition to that, I am marking @LuigiZ 's reply as a solution, so other Local Guides can refer to it. The purpose of this feature is to help Local Guides find answers when searching on the Connect. Please take a look at How do I mark comments as solutions? article.

Thanks for your post @Mohammadalauddin , I wish I had read it earlier. In the opening of your post you wrote “Last week, I was reading Local Guide Connects favorite posts and good comments. I was giving comments and kudos to the well-written ones” and then you got the Likes Flood message that you had exceeded the limit of kudoed messages per hour. I didn’t know about this inbuilt limit of kudoed messages per hour until @MortenCopenhagen mentioned it in his reply to my post “How to improve your Likes on Connect”. I totally agree with the comment made by @LuigiZ and my reading of the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions which includes the Local Guides Connect Content Policy, the bad practice of blindly and repeatedly Liking content could be considered as spamming or ranking manipulation and if so, would be a violation of the said policies and as such could lead to your suspension as a Local Guide! Goodbye Charlie

As I wrote my post, my understanding is that you shouldn’t give Likes unless the content is great, and I would suggest that it’s impossible to find, read and leave comments for 500 great content within an hour. Do read my post “How to improve your Likes on Connect” it may be of benefit.

Hai @Mohammadalauddin .

From your point of view, I am little bit conservative about the way I give kudo or like.

There several steps before I give like or kudo as the way I appreciate fellow Local Guides.

  1. I Read carefully the post
  2. Is it give me or enrich me insight or new nformation or additional information about point of interest that I already know.
  3. Is the post original written by Local Guides experience by himself or herself.
  4. Is the photos attached taken by hinself or herself
  5. Is the video attached taken by hinself or herself
  6. is the post follow Local Guides Rules
  7. Is the post follow Your Guide to Connect by @KatieMcBroom

So if I follow this 7 steps it need more than three minutes to decide to give kudo/ likes .

So in an hour I just can give up to 20 kudos/likes.
