Last year, when I visited some places, I always took pictures or video of them and upload them on Google so people can easily know more about the real condition of those places. But then, it turns into something bigger I was awarded as Top Local Guide in Bandung, it means that a lot of people have been helped by my Google Reviews.
Then something even bigger happen last month.
I went to Solo, Central Java, and stayed in a such lovely homestay with Mr Rully as the owner. During the conversation, he said that he has a crucial problem regarding the homestay’s location on Google Maps, I was wondering what is that. He told me that almost all of the guests complained even angry because the location of his accommodation on google map did not match at all with the real position. (Ah yeah, I realized It happen to me too).
Then I told him maybe I can give some help to fix this problem. As local guide, I tried to change the location from the false one to the right one and showed it to Mr. Rully. I was surprised by his reaction!! Suddenly he feels happy and thank me. I still remember his facial expression; thank you mas Cahyo, matur suwun (thanks in Javanese). Until I’ve finished my stay and leave for 4 days, he called me and thanked again because the position of his homestay already changed and it impact to his accommodation reputation.
This experience change my perspective and goals as a local guide. I proud to be local guide, took some picture and video then upload them to google is one of my favorite activity during traveling. I was so helped by Google, that why i want to help others by sharing in Google.
As an 8 starts guides, I want this account to be helpful for others, especially for small business in local area.
Because i want to Give something and Share everything!!!
