Githeri in Westlands, Nairobi

This is a delicious meal that we call ‘Githeri’ :clap:t6::clap:t6:

Githeri is a Kenyan traditional dish made of beans, maize and sometimes peas or black beans. Most Kenyan who went to public boarding schools would understand what I am talking about because this was always part of the menu, but, it was always beans and maize no peas or black beans!

I went for lunch with a friend and their menu had Githeri on the list…I was super excited and ordered that.

It was Incredible! I had an wonderful time and as usual, I eat my food with a lot of Avocado…It’s almost an unwritten rule to eat Githeri without an Avocado here on the streets of Nairobi.
