After two long years of COVID restrictions, Girgaon finally celebrated Gudhi-Padwa with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. The festival was celebrated on the 2nd of April, 2022 as mentioned in my earlier post on Gudhi-Padwa.
There are multiple attractions every year in this procession which highlights the Maharashtrian tradition and modernization of the same. For Example, the female bike rallies, the Lezim Pathak, Dhol Vadak etc.
Sharing a few of the captures from this yearтАЩs Shobha Yatra at Girgaon.
We also have our very own LG @sanku_m08 who participated in the bike rally at Shobha Yatra 2022, Girgaon. She dressed up in Maharashtrian traditional wear for her participation.
There are multiple other events and skillsets which are displayed during this procession and are captured by a number of photographers to showcase their skills on social platforms. Girgaon Shobha Yatra truly is one platform for a number of artists, bikers, athletes etc.
Which one of the above pictures are giving you new information? Do you have anything to add?
Thanks for sharing this nice post on Girgaon,@Smita_Patil This celebration is really amazing and colorful. It reminds me about our Pohela Boishakh celebration on 14th April. Girgaon has a lot physical activities, I see. The photo of the Mallakhamb (Aerial Yoga) is really very nice. This is a challenging work. Paying tribute to Lata Ji is another amazing side of this year Girgaon.
Thanks for sharing this nice post, thanks for participating in #NewYearinApril challenge.
Thanks for sharing beautiful photos & post of Shobha yatra 2022 . I saw on Marathi News channel it was awesome. Happy to see Ladies on scooty & bike, with dhol so much vibrant colours it was commendable.
Thank you for your response @MukulR . I am glad that I could write this one for #NewYearinApril challenge.
Mallakhamb is definitely a skill and it comes with practice. I have been witnessing this art at Shivaji Park since many years (except for in covid). I was myself surprised and proud to see the display of Mallakhamb in Shobha Yatra.
Thank you again for your encouragement and support
