Ghevar: Affordable yet authentic, tempting, and exquisite thali in Pune

Ghevar Thali is a unique, pure vegetarian restaurant in Pune that offers a delightful dining experience.

The entrance features a large waiting area and a paid pot-maker teaching small clay items like diyas and mini pots, attracting both kids and adults. I just loved this concept.

Photo 01: A collage of photos showing the entrance portion with reception and waiting area.

Photo 02: They implemented a wonderful idea by adding a pot maker in the waiting area, where customers can enjoy their skills in making poteries for a nominal price. They can take away their pots too!

The staff was wearing the typical Rajasthani peharav (dress), and it was going with the theme of the restaurant. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the decor and even the cutlery are very traditional and reflect Rajasthani vibes.

They serve an impressive thali that includes 3–4 types of vegetables, sweet dishes, and rice options, accompanied by an appetizer, zingy thecha, and refreshing buttermilk.

Photo 03: A vegetarian thali with a variety of special Rajasthani food. Very yummy!!

The best part is that Ghevar Thali provides this royal experience at an affordable price of just ₹250 (around 3 dollars) for unlimited thali.

Photo 04: Our family was enjoying the pot-making skills and some selfies. The decor and ambience go with the theme.

The restaurant is easily accessible and has a pretty atmosphere. It also offers manual support for wheelchair-bound customers. Personally, I was happy with my overall experience at Ghevar Thali for authentic flavors.

Here is my review for you:.

Looking at the thali, there seems to be no difference between Gujarati and Rajasthani thali. Rajasthani food is more pungent in taste while Gujarati food is slightly sweet. Am I right @AjitThite ?

That’s amazing to see that your review is trendy. Congratulations on 20K views.

Yes, @NareshDarji bhai, it’s like whenever we think about thali, it’s always gujarati or rajasthani that comes to mind. You’ve correctly pointed out a minor but tasty difference between the two.

Thanks for your appreciation.

Their specialty is in the name itself, Ghevar, a typical Rajasthani sweet dish.

Until you answered Merlin’s question, I knew of Ghevar as a sweet dish @AjitThite

So, I was a bit amused as to why they named their restaurant with that name.

But it is fine that they also serve the Ghevar .

In Delhi, some restaurants and sweet shops had queues going up to 1 kilometer for their Ghevar.

Excellent review and well-deserving response of 20K+

The photos and collages are superb as always, as is the banner photo :+1:

The interiors, decorations, activities, and vibes are attractive.

The rates are so low, it is a must-visit place on the next lunch out of home.

@AjitThite Wow Great Post!

Actually Ghevar is a sweet dish made from milk…correct?

@GirishPidadi

I think Ghevar is basically made up of maida, ghee, and sugar syrup. Served with dry-fruit toppings of almonds, pistas, and edible silver foils on top.
