Ghanaians Modern Day Major Use of Coalpot

Coalpot is available in almost every household and remains the topmost source of cooking Banku in Ghana even though modern fuels like kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are the major sources of cooking energy.

When it comes to cooking banku most can’t do without Coal-pot due to the ease of use and convenience in preparation. It still continue to remain significant in various kitchens in our Ghanaian society.

I present to you a Ghanaian Coalpot with burning charcoal ready for preparation of banku.

nice one there!

With the advent of Neat banku and the 6 Kg Gas Cylinder, that has been modified into a single burner, hardly do you see Ghanaians using the coal- pot especially in the nation’s capital city, Accra and other major cities such as Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Sunyani and Tamale. This is due to the high cost of charcoal in the urban areas whereas the coal pots are a common spectacle found in rural communities alongside firewood though charcoal and firewood are considered as not Eco- friendly due to illegal lumbering in our pristine forest reserves.

@ohenebakatakyie207 my observation is the very opposite of your submission… Lol.
