Hello!
I recently moved to Oman from Houston, TX, USA.
I’m here for business.
I have noticed that there are many lone stars, and a very few Google Certified TIP’s.
Oman is not like any other country I have been to, with regards to physical addresses. All directions are given by mouth or using WhatsApp “send my location”, and Waze seems to do better than Google Maps even though it is owned by Google. People do not use physical addresses for receiving anything, they only use postal addresses. So if a street sign is missing or you did not enter a street from a point where it 'T’s, you will never see the street number or name repeated!
I would like to meet up with some local guides either physically or we could WhatsApp or use Google Hangouts, to plan on how to get complete areas up on the map, so streets will be more navigable. Google seems to be having some restrictions that it’s not sharing with us. But perhaps putting up as much data as possible will help both the businesses, streets and cities.
Kind regards
Sam
