So one of the things I love about being a Google Local Guide is not only rating my favorite restaurants, bars and hang spots but diving deep into the nuances, staff not to miss menu items. I feel that many people who write restaurant reviews on G-Maps or other review apps are sometimes very top-level. I like to dig deep and showcase a staff member who specializes is a certain drink or a table that is exceptionally awesome when I write my reviews. I always hope that whoever is reading it, takes the leap and asks for that staff member or to sit in that location and I hope they have a similar experience.
I rarely give bad reviews on a place unless I have had a negative experience at least 3 times. I like to give places around me the benefit of the doubt before I report on it. Being in the service industry for more than 30 years, I know that things sometimes don’t go as planned and sometimes there are not-so-good days, so before I write not-so-positive about it, I try it again, just to be sure.
And finally, let’s talk about the vibe and the atmosphere. I love a great place with a great vibe and feeling - this includes server attire, background music, themed food and drink and yes, even fun gimmicks where the whole place has to stop and chant something for a quick second, then go back to their originally scheduled outing. To me, it means the place has gone the extra mile to ensure their guests enjoy themselves.
