Get the URL Links of Photos on Google Maps and Connect

This post shows how to extract the URL link for photos on Google Maps and Connect.

The link can then be shared to other social media like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn or in private chats like WhatsApp and Messenger.

1. Google Maps: Desktop.

  1. Open the photo in Google Maps.
  2. Select the 3 dots menu.
  3. Select Share from the menu.
  4. Click COPY LINK.

2. Google Maps: Mobile

  1. Open the photo in Google Maps.
  2. Select the Share icon.
  3. Select Copy to clipboard.

3. LG Connect: Desktop PC

Right click on the image and select Copy Link from the pop-up menu.

4. LG Connect: Mobile

Deep press on the image and a menu pops up.
Select Open in Chrome.
In Chrome, tap once on the address bar.
A Copy button is displayed.
Tap on the copy button.

These steps will be helpful to share photo links directly to social media and chats.

Also, this will be helpful for my upcoming meetup about photographs.

Hello @TusharSuradkar

thank you for the clear and precise explanation!

One addition to your information:

A while a ago, I was searching for an URL to record along with my photos, to be able to track where I posted those and to be able to delete, if necessary. To be able to achieve the latter, I found it makes a difference, where exactly you open the photo on maps. If you search it under My contributions → Photos, then click the name of the place pin, you’ll get a list of all your photos you posted to that place.

If you create the link at that point, opening it later on the desktop(!) will give you the possibility to delete it, but only in the side bar (red marker in my screenshot):

Unless the photo was attached to a review, you’ll also see the number of views here (green marker).

If the photo was attached to a review, you need to edit the review in order to delete the photo, but in that case, you do not see the number of views.

I did search quite a while and believe, this is the only way to get a link with the capability to delete the photo.

Since I don’t make videos, I don’t know whether it applies to videos too.

I just tried the method on the mobile app and realized, it works similar. However, the URL created on the mobile and used on the desktop, shows the photo, but without the possibility to delete. The same vice versa.

Tracking all photos this way, I also discovered several photos, I unintentionally posted duplicate.
