Gandikota - Grand Canyon of India + Lepakshi

I am sure world knows about the Grand Canyon from America of course, but people who are not able to travel there (i haven’t at least), can feel the similar majestic view of the Grand Canyon in India… Named Gandikota.

So first thing is how to reach?

Best way that i found to reach there was this (from bangalore) - take road to Airport, continue on the road towards Lepakshi.

Lepakshi is beautiful half day trip from bangalore, and you can visit the A huge Monolithic statue of Nandi, which is considered to be one of the largest Nandi in India. Its carved beautifully with you can clearly see the ornaments its wearing, eyes and others features craved in the stone, hundreds of years ago with accurate precision.

Nest is the Shivalinga covered with the snakes of 7 heads. You can just admire the beauty that this place offers, and you can fall in love with the place. Lepakshi Temple also has a pillar which is hanging in the air and is considered the architectural marvel .

Well lets move on our journey to grand canyon and take road to the Gooty and take right from there to stay on course toGandikota. Road is beautiful for a drive and only last few kilometer of the patch has issues. Once you move on the hill and reach the only Hotel cum lodge on the top run by Andhra Pradesh (a state of India) Tourism. beautiful campus, and has ample room to park or if you want to camp.Go straight to the village and reach the parking spot where you need to park your vehicle- which will be around 1 mile from hotel, and walk for 500 meters to see the beautiful grand canyon of india. This view will mesmerize you and be sure to witness the change of colors during early morning, noon and evening. If its cloudy weather or rainy, it adds to the beauty of the place. Be sure to wear proper footwear to walk on the stone and be careful Enjoy the view and fill memory for life…
