FULL CIRCLE AS A "GLOBAL" LOCAL GUIDE.. Know how

Like most, I started as a naive & curious user of the Google Maps finding out places to dine around a new locality I was exploring. Did I ever guess, it was just the beginning and I’ll be using Google Maps day in day out.

I’m writing this article to share my recent past experience and how my journey towards giving back to the global-local communities begun. So in early 2019, I had my first visit to Brussels, Belgium. Whilst I was there for just couple of weeks, I was looking out for places to visit, experiences to try, and most importantly what the locals recommended joints for food, drinks and chocolates. I’ve had a fascination to explore wall murals & planned a day hop for the same.

In conversation with a friend, I learnt about a hole in the wall place for some great Waffles. Unfortunately, I couldn’t recollect the name of the place later on, but I had to visit this recommendation as I was planning to be in the vicinity. Luckily, it didn’t take much time to figure out this place on Google maps. I just had to search & it was right there on the top of list. And believe me, it was one of the best Belgian waffles I’ve had.

[P.S. My Local recommendation for Beligian waffle in Rue Neuve goes to Vitalgaufre, tucked between H&M/Primark and C&A ]

Same magic worked out whist meeting up with friends who were there travelling from US & Germany. They trusted me to find a place for the meetup & I in-turn literally just shortlisted the top recommendations around. And believe me, Delirium Cafe, turned out to be a great spot.

[ My Local recommendation for variety of Beers: Delirium Cafe located at Impasse de la Fidélité 4, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium ]

My exploration for murals in Brussels was a great experience. I’ve visited Brussels 4-5 times since, I do take time to explore the city finding some great painted walls. Not often recommended or talked about, I had to totally rely upon Google Maps to look for such art-work around the city. Any sure shot, I did strike quite a few unknown or unexplored mural art work too. Immediately, I couldn’t but resist click few pictures & post them myself for other enthusiasts in exploration !

[ My Local recommendation for Mural art across Brussels is published. Do also check out similar from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia ]

As a passionate traveler, a food critic & inquisitiveness about exploring something new, I always find myself connected to the Google Maps ecosystem as a local’ite.

What a beautiful experience as a Local Guide @Damzmegz .

Do you have a list of all these amazing places.

If not try and create a list on Google maps and do not forget to make it public.

I have up to 11 lists on Google maps. Give it a try.

Don’t forget to share the link here let me take a look.
