Full and short name of institutions?

Hello.

I know that it is proper for a listing to be named with his full name and how it is labeled outside.

Example - National Revenue Agency.

But most of the institutions here in Bulgaria have also short names -

• Национална агенция за приходите /НАП/ - National Revenue Agency. / nra.bg /

• Агенция за хора с увреждания /АХУ/ - AGENCY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

• НАЦИОНАЛЕН ОСИГУРИТЕЛЕН ИНСТИТУТ /НОИ/ - NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY INSTITUTE / noi.bg /

.etc…

Is it correct with the full name the short one to be used /labeled/ as well?

Because it is very popular and these institutions are much more famous with their short names?

Please, advice me for best practices.

I think we need the help from @Flash on this.

I have the same doubt about this Museum that calles itself

SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst

The initial 3 capital letters are just the initials Statens Museum for Kunst.

I have successfully changed the name to “Statens Museum for Kunst” only. But this was quickly reversed.
