Local Guide tends to think that bc I drove through a parking lot that I visited several stores and sends me questions and asks for a review. I either select “dismiss” or “i’ve never been there”, however, they keep coming back. I must have 30 place i’ve never been and cant get rid of. What do I need to do to eliminate these, or do I just opt out of the program?
Hi @speaalma , if it can be any comfort: you’re not the only one facing this. These kind of annoyances usually just disappear after a while, but I have to admit this one is really lasting long.
@speaalma can you try this to see if it helps?
Under your Maps app > menu > settings > Maps history > look for those items or places that you have not been and delete them manually.
Try it and let us know if it helps. I am keen to know also. Thanks.
Hi @speaalma ,
You are not alone, If I am not wrong almost all people who use Google maps face such issues. Don’t be bothered about it. Just dismiss them if you don’t find them relevant. Or if you don’t mind click on I haven’t been there. It will improve itself slowly - 2
Hi @StephenAbraham , @JanVanHaver ,
Thanks for helping out and sharing your experience.
@speaalma I would like to suggest you also to check you Timeline and to clean the location history.
Google Maps usually asks you to review places from your Timeline. If it was incorrect that you visited a place or you passed by, then you need to remove it from your timeline to stop seeing the prompts.
When you view the location in Google Maps when searching, there should be a link to that place in your Timeline which thinks you visited it recently. Correct that instance and then check again to see if there are more similar cases.
Correct your Timeline and you won’t be asked anymore. I hope this helps!
