These pictures of fruits are from Gelson’s Market in Los Angeles. They have a huge collection of fruits and it was such a pleasure to visit this place. The fruits are mouthwatering, indeed.
EDIT : I inquired about the fruits like the ones that I had never seen before in my life and the person stocking them was truly friendly explaining all of them with pride.
When he came to know that it was my first time visiting the United States, he got off from the counter went to get a knife and opened boxes of dragon fruit, strawberries, litchis and other fruits for letting me taste them. He went on slicing papayas, oranges and some even I can not remember. We told him that we can not buy these all as foreign fruits are generally prohibited in all countries for the fear of invasive species.
He said that it was all for free and wants them to taste the delicious fruits that are not found back here.
He was very proud of his products and was very kind in offering me and Pooja at least 20 plus fruits explaining how they were grown and what makes them taste the way they do.
He also asked me about the horticulture scenario back here in India and @user_not_found
explained to them the organic farming her family does back here in India. He was surprised to know that her household is a completely self sufficient household that eats what it grows and uses the waste as manure. Hers is a zero plastic waste household where composting of organic materials are done to produce no fertilizer subjected fruits and vegetables.
That generosity was something that I will never forget. I visited a lot of stores in 4 states and found the staff to be such polite and courteous that it won my heart.
Next time you see him in Gelson’s, say a “Hello” to that big-hearted man!
