I’m Philippe, French-born Chinese, living in the beautiful Formosa island that is Taiwan since 4 years.
A while back when I first started sharing reviews/photos of places on Google Maps, I remember doing so because when I looked for the place some information was missing. Sometime, a simple text would suffice. Sometime, a photo was worth a 1000-words. It was also mostly to pass a direct message to the owner of the place to either encourage and provide constructive feedback about their service or the experience.
Then I was taken into the journey of becoming a Local Guide. Was really addicting as the gamification process started to take over me! So level after level, I also started to enjoy sharing the experience with random fellow explorers, obviously also looking for more information about the different places. Eventually, this became a habit as I was travelling around the world for either leisure or work.
Last thing: I love seeing the stats regularly sent about how many people saw a photo, etc. It really drives me forward to keep on sharing!
