The Local Guides Program has always been a medium for me to travel, explore, learn, experience and making new friends. In my 1 min video, I have already mentioned that because of Local Guides Program, I could spread the awareness about being socially active and coming out of my home and exploring the world from my own eyes and also let others do the same.
I would like to tell you that before Local Guides Program, I was a typical Bengali guy who was working for his needs from morning to evening. Always staying at home whenever gets free time but never wanted to go out. The funniest thing was that my neighbors didn’t know that I exist. Lol. But after watching Connect Live 2019 video, I got so much motivated that now I have become an influencer of my locality. I feel like a celebrity because now people and my friends has started talking about me and my life. They are now more curious about what I’m doing and what I’m going to do next. I started planning trips to different places from this year and making new friends with keeping no borders. From Local Guides Program, I also made friends from Bangladesh. Though I have never traveled out of India, this can be my very first trip towards success. I can feel it! I feel proud being on this huge Global Platform. And in the coming time, I’m going to host tonnes of meet ups in my city as well as other cities.
The best thing which I did being a Local Guide is adding my own Academy on Google Maps. Success Jet Academy , I started it on 1st April, 2019. I was doing mouth-to-mouth marketing for it, which is very much hectic job. One month back I got an idea that I can also add my own business on Google Maps. And finally I did it! I’m getting reviews and suggestions about how to improve my academy from my students’ parents socially. Also I’m getting views & new calls from all over my city.
Whether I am at work or went out for a trip or hanging out with friends, the only thing which I never want to miss is to taste the foods over those places. I love to call myself a ‘Foodie’. Due to Google Local Guides Program, I am able to show others about those specific foods which they don’t really gets to taste usually. I review those places on Google Maps and now people love those reviews and make me popular. Among them, one of my most favourite review place was for UP & Bihar Restaurant Kolkata. They serves the tastiest Beef Biryani in Kolkata at much cheaper rates. Though I belong to a family where I was not allowed to taste or eat the foods which people from our caste don’t accept. When my parents saw improvement in me and the good response I’m getting from my locality by involving myself in Local Guide Program and making them understand what Local Guides Program is, I am able to stand out in the crowd. Sometimes I feel like a celebrity!
