The main reason that motivated me to be more active as local guide and contribute with more reviews is being a business owner. Google maps is a great tool to connect business owners with costumers! How? You get to see whom is your target market in the area, or by interest or A lot of other aspects!
I used write reviews from time to time, but as I started seeing reviews from my clients and how helpful it is to see their perspective and opinion in building my business, it totally changed my perspective of google maps services!
I always read reviews before going to a place to get enough details to decide if I should visit or not. It never accused to me how selfish it is to take and not give! I started writing reviews and also add details that are important to me like if it’s wheelchair friendly, parking availability , OCD friendly ( cleanness) , consideration for allergies ,list of services I enjoyed and so on!
