The Khobar city which lies in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia is surrounded with the Arabian gulf and have some of the best seafood restaurants in the Arab region. It is very common to see here a big spacious section allocated to the seafood alone inside the supermarkets serving to its customers.
I like the sweet delicate taste of shrimps and my wife is genius when it comes to preparing shrimps along with the fried noodles and vegetables. Shrimps are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial in regulating the blood pressure and improving the Cardiorespiratory endurance. I will share the simple recipe to prepare this dish along with the ingredients used in the preparation.
INGREDIENTS
Cleaned shrimp from seawater-Half KG
Cooking Oil-3 Tablespoon
Finely chopped white onion-1 Large
Capsicum, Finely chopped-2 Medium
Carrot, 2 Large
Garlic, 3 Cloves
Instant Indomie noodles-2 Packs
Chicken stock, 3 cups
Soy sauce, 2 tablespoons
Lime juice, as per taste
Preparation:
- Mince the garlic and onion in a blender. In a flat pan, add the cooking oil along with the garlic and onion paste, stir-fry until they turn soft (~3 minutes).
- Add the cleaned shrimp to the pan and cook, stirring frequently, until they are no longer translucent (~ 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.
- Finely chop the capsicum and carrot and stir fry in a separate skillet at medium-low flame with cooking oil (vegetables should turn tender and crisp ~5 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken stock, soy sauce to a boil. Add the indomie noodles and boil until the noodles are soft (~ 5 minutes). Add the shrimp and vegetables to the pot and stir to combine.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to a large skillet and add the contents of the pot. Stir fry the mixture for about 10 minutes. When most of the liquid has been absorbed, remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
