Every Friday, Googlers round up some of the best posts they came across during the week to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. This week, solo travel tips, application videos, and more.
@PoliMC : My favorite post this week is the amazing “Too Much of Yummy Foods on a Day Long Meet-up” written by @SaifIS. First, I was impressed with the wonderful Meet-up that he organized and, in this post, I was caught by the description of the delicious food that he and the other Local Guides ate during the 100th meet-up of Bangladesh Local Guides. He separated the food in three sessions according to the time of the day: morning, afternoon, and evening. The most delicious dish that he showed us, in my opinion, is called kheer which is an Indian rice pudding dish. This arrived on the table after lunch. If you are interested in how to organize a successful Meet-up and how to make a great post after that about it, then please check out his post.
@AlexaAC: This week, I was excited that “Go Loco Podcast Episode 5 Part 1 (OUT NOW)” and “Go Loco Podcast - Episode 5 - Part 2 (OUT NOW!)” hosted by @vvbellur were posted! These episodes are jam packed with fellow Local Guides sharing what International Women’s Day means to them and how it has impacted their lives. Take a listen—you might be familiar with some of the participants.
@sonnyNg : Now that Connect Live 2019 applications are open, @PaulPavlinovich has shared a really helpful post titled “so you’re planning to apply for Connect Live but have no idea what to put in your application video?” In it you can find details of the cool video submissions that helped Paul in his applications for the three Local Guides events he has attended. He also offers some helpful tips and reminds everyone that you don’t need to know professional video production to create an awesome Connect Live 2019 video. Instead, just be yourself!
@InaS : Have you ever traveled alone? The How to travel by yourself: Efficiently and safely post written by @Initial_E explains in detail how he plans his solo trips. One of his tips that I’ve tried before is planning my trip with the Google Trips app. Everything was much easier, and I totally agree that whenever you decide to go somewhere, you need a travel app. Reading his post made me want to start planning a solo trip myself!
Tell us about some of the best posts you’ve read on Connect lately and be sure to keep an eye out next week to see if one of your posts is selected for Friday Favorites! You can check out last week’s Friday Favorites here.
