Every Friday, Google Moderators highlight the best posts they found to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. These are posts detailing past experiences that we hope will serve as entertainment and inspiration for your future bucket list. This week, ramen in Melbourne, a fruit shop in Bangladesh, and more.
@LilyanaZ : The post that grabbed my attention this week was “The city food dish I missed the most during lockdown - I got it today .” Like many others, @PaulPavlinovich was only recently able to visit a restaurant and enjoy a dish that he didn’t know he missed during the lockdown until he had it again. Highlighting alocal ramen shop in Melbourne with positive Local Guides reviews, Paul’s post, as always, has stunning food photography and a few interior shots from the restaurant. What’s more, he included a description of the cleaning and ordering protocol that the place currently follows.
@AngieYC : I find @MukulR ’s series about how he supports small businesses in his area through his Local Guides contributions touching. The post “Supporting small business: Part 2” was so interesting that I went back to read the first part. In the second post, he tells us about a fruit shop that suffered losses during the lockdown and, in an effort to recover, added new products to its range that customers seem to appreciate. Mukul has made sure to mention this in his review. His post is a great example of how a simple thing like adding a review or photo to a business on Maps can have a positive impact in reality.
@InaS : I am a big foodie, so it may come asno surprise that I chose a Food & Drink post for my favorite this Friday. In her post “SIDRA y JAMÓN - NORTE y SUR de ESPAÑA #ValorandoNuestraCultura,” @AlejandraMaria introduces a cider from Northern Spain and a type of the famous jamón ham from Southern Spain, jamón serrano. She tells us what she likes about them, like their color, taste, and texture, and rates them. Are you interested in learning more about these two traditional Spanish products? If so, you should check outher post.
@KlaudiyaG : Even though Christmas passed, I want to tell you about a post by @Nosaint2_Rafael_Fe , dedicated to the Three Kings or the Three Wise Men from the Christmas story. In “Tallado en Piedra Los Tres Santos Reyes…,” the Local Guide takes us to Guavate in Puerto Rico, where the Piedra de Guavatestatues rise in commemoration of the Holy Kings Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthasar. Their holiday is coming up on January 6 in some countries, so if you’re curious, make sure to read @Nosaint2_Rafael_Fe ’spost to find out more about the sculptures and their story. You will also find some beautiful photos accompanying this captivating narrative.
