Friday Favorites: Galway, a road trip through New Zealand, and more

Every Friday, Googlers round up some of the best posts they came across during the week to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. This week, Galway, a road trip through New Zealand, and more.

@KlaudiyaG : Summer is near and of course one of the things that I have on my mind is planning my next adventure. That’s how I stumbled upon @DennisNguyen’s post “The beach or a crystal?” When I think about summer vacation, the first thing that comes to my mind is beautiful beaches, where I can walk barefoot, warm weather and serenity. If you are like me and you look for a place where you can find all of these things, then I suggest you check out this post.

There you’ll find some amazing pictures, like the one below and as well as some helpful tips if you are planning a trip to Thailand. For those of us who aren’t, it’s still worth checking out because it’ll definitely make you daydream of one day visiting.

@FelipePK : For this week, I’m choosing this amazing postThe Natural Wonder Of Milford Sound.” In it, @JordanSB describes the two week road trip through New Zealand he took with his wife. Together, they passed by wonderful places likeLake Wakatipu, Mount Eglinton, and, of course, Milford Sound. New Zealand is a place that I’ve always wanted to visit to explore its wonders and I’m impressed by the beauty of Fiordland National Park. I love to see waterfalls because in my region in Brazil we were blessed to have a few. However, to see that many in just one place must be unbelievably amazing. I really hope to visit this wonderful place soon.

@MortenSI : “Enjoying the sunset on The Long Walk, Galway City, Ireland” by Local Guide @Vratsagirl really caught my attention earlier this week. Galway is a pearl of an Irish destination I have yet to visit, and she shows that a vacation in Ireland doesn’t have to involve winter clothing. As a Danish native, I know what it’s like living in a country where the summer is usually more of a wet spring. However, the summer of 2018 was absolutely incredible in northern Europe and will be remembered.

@Vratsagirl describes her experience at the Mojo Fest 2018 in Galway and throws in a few travel tips for anyone wanting to visit this beautiful town. If you want to see what the summer in Galway is like, check out this post.

@MoniV : This week was full of really great posts, but one of them really touch me and it’s @Just7ico 's post “Trip to historical city of Koprivhstitsa.” In the post, he describes the magical city of Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria and its history. He made a trip to this lovely city for the first time. In this amazing post, you can read about Bulgarian history and the history of the city itself. The photos he shared caught the real spirit of the city.

I remember when I was a child, my parents took me to Koprivshtitsa. While I was reading @Just7ico 's post, the memories came back to me: the cobblestone streets and the really old houses. There is so much history gathered in this one small, lovely city. If you have the opportunity to come to Bulgaria, this city is a great place to visit. I will definitely visit it and will take my kids too.

Tell us about some of the best posts you’ve read on Connect lately and be sure to keep an eye out next week to see if one of your posts is selected for Friday Favorites! You can check out last week’s Friday Favorites here.

New Zeland is an amazing place. I have visited in 2005 during my wedding trip. Landscapes are breathtaking and you will be happy to feel lonely in a country with 5 million people and 10 million sheep!

Taking a helicopter to get on the top of Franz Josef glacier was probably one of the best experience in my life.

The Tongariro Vulcain is so beautiful that the pictures I took were like a painting.

Spending a night in a hotel remembering me the Overlook hotel!

The idea of going to Zanzibar was fantastic, but it was kind of a challenging experience. I decided to go for once of a lifetime experience. It took almost three hours for me to get to Zanzibar. I had to walk around quite long to discover a hostel, but worth it. The next day, I met my Korean friends to visit popular isolated island, Prison Island. It took us almost 20 minutes to reach there by a rowboat. The sea was so amazing and of course the nature. We took this unforgettable photo there. So, if your path falls to Zanzibar I strongly recommend you to visit the Prison Island.
