Every Friday, Google Moderators highlight the best posts they found during the week to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. This week, a trip to Lapland, a fort in Pakistan, and more.
@Bobiisha: The post I want to highlight this week is “Dos olhos à boca.” In it, Local Guide @ribeirofloripa tells us what makes a dish important. It’s not only the eating part but also putting effort and love into preparing and presenting it. But the most important thing is sharing that dish with someone special. Make sure to check out this great post about appreciating food and company.
@DanniS: I’m from Finland, and seeing posts on Connect about that country makes me very excited. That’s why I chose @Ruxellan’s post Magical Winter in Lapland.” In it, he talks about his first trip to Lapland, which seems to have been quite the experience. He also shares a few amazing videos that show Lapland in all its glory. What I loved most about that post were the videos of the husky and reindeer rides. If you haven’t tried those, I highly recommend you do so at least once. The feeling is unforgettable.
@Aruni: The post that captured my attention this week was written by @Muhammad_Usman and is called “Bike Tour to old Forts - Rohtas Fort (1st Part).” It’s about the Local Guide’s journey to and experience at the Rohtas Fort in Pakistan. His photos of the centuries-old stone walls and gates are amazing. If you’d like to learn more about this place or you’re planning a vacation to Pakistan, head to his post.
@PoliMC: My favorite post this week was the great “#arosefortheplanet, Snowdrops in the Beginning of February, Minsk, Belarus” by @OlgaKlimchik The post is part of the new campaign “A Rose for the Planet,” initiated by @ermest. The campaign aims to draw attention to climate change and the importance of tackling this issue. In her post, Olga describes with photos how much the weather conditions in Belarus have changed. Winters in the country are supposed to be cold, but instead, the temperatures are higher than usual, and snowdrops have started appearing. If you’re interested in this campaign, you can also check out what other Local Guides have shared.
Tell us about some of the best posts you’ve read on Connect lately and be sure to keep an eye out next week to see if one of your posts is selected for Friday Favorites! You can check out last week’s Friday Favorites here.
