Friday Favorites: a journey through India and Nepal, a stone formation, and more

Every Friday, Google Moderators highlight the best posts they found to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. These are posts detailing past experiences that we hope will serve as entertainment and inspiration for your future bucket list. This week, a journey through India and Nepal, a stone formation, and more.

@AlexaAC : If you’re like me and you’d like to see more for less, then check out @StephenAbraham 's post “14 Best Free Places to visit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Part 7-9 of 14).” In it, he shares a list of places you can see for free in Kuala Lumpur that you can add to your own wishlist. From the well-known Batu Caves to art galleries, temples, museums, and street markets, this city offers it all! Head to Stephen’s post and the rest in this series to read more about each place.

@Giu_DiB : I love to explore the world through the eyes of Local Guides, and that’s why I like browsing through our Travel board, looking for new places to discover. This week, I found the amazing post “Offline Maps: Free Yet Connected” by @Ezgi . She has shared many beautiful photos of the people and places she came across while traveling through Nepal and India last year, relying only on offline Google Maps. I highly recommend this post if you want to catch a glimpse of the colorful, genuine local life in these countries.

@Aruni :The post that captured my attention this week was “My very spontaneous trip to Portugal (Part 3)” by @bernix97 . In it, he continues his story about a trip he did to Portugal and the places he visited along the coast there. His photos are breathtaking, and my favorite is the one of the sunset over the sea. What is even more interesting is that if you enjoy paragliding, you’ll find that the cliffs next to Praia da Cordoama beach are perfect for this activity. To experience more of this place, read his post.

@Ekattotii : This week, I was impressed by the post “Stob pyramids - a legend for the stone wedding,” created by @mockata2 . The great thing about it is not only the beautifully captured images but also their background story. Through them, I learned more about the alluring golden Stob Pyramids stone formation that represents an emotional legend about two lovers and their wedding. Travel photography is not just about depicting beauty; it is also about unfolding the story and illustrating the character of the places behind the lens. This is exactly what this Local Guide has accomplished with their post. They also suggest some useful tips for those who wish to add this place to their bucket list, including the perfect time to go there and why.

Tell us about some of the best posts you’ve read on Connect lately and be sure to keep an eye out next week to see if one of your posts is selected for Friday Favorites! You can check out last week’s Friday Favorites here.
