Every Friday, Google Moderators highlight the best posts they found to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. These are posts detailing past experiences that we hope will serve as entertainment and inspiration for your future bucket list. This week, a 360 tour of Sydney, a steamed veggies dish, and more.
@LilyanaZ : The post that grabbed my attention this week was “Visit Sydney Parks and CBD Heritage in 360 Panorama Photography” by @KentJohnson . With traveling currently on hold for many, it gives us the visual stimulation we didn’t know we needed. The Local Guide shows us amazing panoramas from parks in Sydney, the famous Opera House, and other notable locations from around the city. They are all part of Kent’s interactive 360 Sydney Tour that he’s been working on for three years! So, sit back, relax, and get some inspiration for your future travels while reading this post and exploring Sydney virtually.
@KlaudiyaG : Eating locally-grown vegetables is good both for your health and the environment. They give your meal a fresh and tasty flavor. But, finding a restaurant that uses local products in their menu can be difficult, and that’s why @yamamo_cchi ’s post, “#monthlytopic Steamed Vegetables Lunch/せいろ蒸し野菜のランチ,” made such an impression on me. In it, the Local Guide introduces one of their favorite restaurants in Fukuoka City, Japan, where people can enjoy dishes with in-season vegetables. The meal they recommend is steamed vegetables, which are a treat for the eyes and the tongue. To learn about veggies in Japan, check out their post, and for more helpful information about the restaurant, see the Local Guide’s review here. This post is part of @HiroyukiTakisawa 's #monthlytopic for September.
@InaS : Do you like challenges? If so, then you might want to join the #ExploreTheMapsChallenge by @NareshDarji . Every week, he focuses on a different country and shares icons of landmarks you can find on Google Maps. This week, there are 18 landmarks to guess from the United States. You can find helpful hints for all of them in Naresh’s post “USA #1 #ExploreTheMapsChallenge,” together with photos by Local Guides who have visited these places. Once you’ve guessed the icons, make sure to take the quiz and see if you win! And, if you’ve visited any of the spots, don’t forget to share your own pictures in the comments to help other participants. Learn more about Naresh’s challenge here, and why not test your travel trivia knowledge of some of the previous countries, too?
