Macarons, Croissants, Choux and Éclairs, Crêpes, and the other famous French pastries are my favorite sweet tooth. I always feel so excited when visiting bakery and patisserie shop. Last month, I shared about an European patisserie through my post about Two Ambiances in One Place.
This time, I would like to share my French dining experience in Jakarta .
Let me share about Pierre, a French restaurant from a local Food & Beverage (F&B) business group. Before coming to Pierre, we have to make a reservation first. They only give us 90 minutes duration for dining in.
During the pandemic, they require us to wear face mask and do temperature checking as well. The menu could be accessed by scanning the barcode through our mobile phone camera, then we could see the menu book directly on our mobile phone.
Pierre has both of the indoor and outdoor area. The indoor area is more spacious, similar with a classic European house. They provide Charcuterie, variant of Entrée, side dishes, Plat Principal, dessert, along with both of the alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
Escargot
As part of the opening dish, escargot is a famous French dish. It was my first time having escargot. This menu consists of garlic butter breads that are served with the warm baked burgundy snail, tomato fondue in the green colored sauce.
Soufflé “Noix De Coco”
It’s time for dessert!
This dessert is full of coconut and served warm. Coconut soufflé filled with the creamy texture of coconut praline. It tastes less sweet as well. A nice warm dessert that is similar with bread and butter pudding.
Have you tried French cuisine before? What is your favorite and recommendation? Feel free to share on the comment below
Nice post with some amazing and mouth-watering food photos @Velvel Apu. The Interior also looks georgious with a touch of ancient design. Among all the food items I prefer the plate of Filet De Saumon most. Love it. I hope you enjoyed your time there. Thanks for sharing this nice post.
Really enjoyed you sharing your experience at Pierre, @Velvel - especially because I LOVE French cuisine!
Its very interesting to hear about the 90 minute Max duration, although it seems it correlates with their impressive coronavirus safety protocols. Nonetheless it seems that was all the time needed to enjoy such a mouth-watering assortment. The souffle especially catches my eye.
How did you like the escargot? I always told myself I’d never have it and even now and then I get a bit nervous upon first bite, but then I am reminded of how great it actually is, especially if it is flavorful and the garlic flavor really comes though.
Thankfully there are some great French options in Miami, my favorite being [Le Bouchon Du Grove](http://Le%20Bouchon Du Grove (305) 448-6060 https://maps.app.goo.gl/h1txSdsHPRes35Zn7). Has relatively the same vibe as Pierre, but in a more small and confined setting, a bit more informal. My go to there is a homemade duck leg confit with sauteed potatoes. Honestly, everything I’ve had there has been fantastic and I am now reminding myself that I need to go back there very soon, especially if I can use enjoying their delicious dishes as a reason to update my review .
Tnx for articel @Velvel french cuisine is really important for gourmets. I tried it many times, but I think the worst part is that the portions are small .and I always used the phrase why these macarons are so expensive. But then when I researched how hard it was to make, I realized that it was normal for it to be this expensive.
I always enjoy your photo compositions. The angles in the dishes are perfectly lit and well balanced. You really showed the feeling and atmosphere of this restaurant. Although I have never tried snail, I am more inclined now to try them based on your experience. Was the flavor and texture really good?
What an amazing experience of French cuisine! I would love to take a bite of the salmon or even the soufflé right now, but I will pass the snail, no matter how incredibly tasty it is. I am rather a mussels fan, but snails are just not my cup of tea. Thank you for sharing the experience @Velvel
You definitely had an amazing French dining experience at Pierre @Velvel , it’s interesting that there’s a 90 minute duration for dining. To the best of my knowledge, I don’t think any restaurant in Abuja has a dining limit duration.
I’m a huge fan of French food and I recently tried it out at fine dining restaurant called Zuma Grill, it was during their “Taste of France” week. My favorites are easily Creme de champignons (mushroom soup), Provençale Rib Eye, Butternut Risotto and Profiteroles chocolat.
Yeah, I guess 90 minutes duration correlates with the pandemic situation right now and also because Pierre is a newly-opened restaurant, so that many people are so excited to dine in here. This restaurant is famous on some social media posts as well.
How did I like and manage to eat escargot?
Actually, this was my first time having escargot, but I ate burgundy several times before in Indonesian cooking style just like this one . After browsing that picture, I found out that burgundy can be served as skewers .
I hope you won’t be surprised to see the dishes
And also hope you have the courage to taste it. Don’t worry… They’re not alive anymore.
Oh yeah, Duck Leg Confit is one of the signature dish in Pierre. I like duck, but since my friend doesn’t like duck, so we ended up having salmon instead.
Thanks for sharing about Le Bouchon Du Grove. I would like to visit this festive restaurant whenever I come to Miami someday.
The texture of the snail is a bit chewy yet easy to bite. It 's served warm and suitable to eat together with the bread. My friend said that the escargot in different French restaurant in Jakarta has more delicious taste. That’s why, I need to visit the other restaurant someday.
