Update: Posting too many animated GIFs in the post has seriously slowed down the loading of the images!! Sorry!!! So, I’ve moved the options into the comments and split them up so that the ‘slow down’ will happen in each comment itself. Note: I’m not technical about how web pages are displayed but I’m assuming that each comment is loaded independently and by splitting the animated GIFs across multiple comments, the page loading is not too strained
Hi everyone! I love this festive season of Christmas more so when I’m in the UK as it’s freeeeezing cold and there’s actual chance of snow around (it actually has snowed here in the UK… we have a severe cold snap warning so stay warm UK peeps and be careful when outside! ). Anyway, I was busy updating the small animated icon that I use in my signature here on Connect (you may have noticed that I do change it quite frequently ) and thought that I would make a few more and share them to the community!
Anyway, these are all animated GIFs (see below in the comments section) with cute little ‘icons’ in the front, and falling snow in the background. They are 96 x 96 pixels wide and I’ve deliberately kept the file sizes small (hence, the quality is not great but good enough) so that it doesn’t affect your internet data/bandwidth too much. They are quite big for Connect signatures actually but hopefully they won’t be too distracting. Also, apologies that I’ve only used the English language for ‘Merry Christmas’!
For myself, I have chosen the Festive Cat so you can see how it displays in my signature at the end of this post. As for how to edit/update your signature, you can refer to these posts:
Thanks so much for sharing all these original holiday Gifs. Much appreciated. After reloading this page 4 times on my mobile 1 or 2 of the animated Gifs still fail to load. I’m pretty sure it is not your fault. If I long press and select open in new tab they are available.
@AdrianLunsong Thanks for sharing these beautiful GIFs. I used my desktop, and I can see them. It is nice to see the old post by me still helpful. Thank you for sharing it.
@MortenCopenhagen Yeah… the files are not large and actually under 600 kB each so it’s not a bandwidth issue but a rendering of too many animated GIFs. It might be a Connect platform issue but I recall (after I published the post and seeing the loading issue) that the general rule of thumb is to avoid animated GIFs And Merry Christmas to you too!
@AnuradhaP It’s far easier for me to link to your post than for me to figure out how to explain the editing of signatures and adding images… so definitely, thanks for your helpful post!
Hey @Ewaade_3A ! Thanks for the high praise indeed! I hope you’ll get your house in 2023!! I’m sure that if you put your mind to it and put in the effort, although it will be tough and challenging, you’ll be able to achieve it!
I like the gingerbread person soaking in the mug… that’s cute but I have to stick to my cats!
Well thought out response from someone from the city of Cats; Kuching.
Oh and about the praise, I praise you a lot and everywhere! People like you are very rare, Adrian. You are kind and sweet, that’s a rare combination, so, I am learning from you how to be kinder to people even though many people think I am really kind and sweet.
@AZ_2021 The first 4 comments in this post shows the 12 animated GIFs. It may take a few reloads of the webpage they are not loading properly. Let me know if you have any issues!
@AdrianLunsong Very festive! Love those gifs. Thank you for sharing those with us. And thanks for the shout out about the #ChristmasInMyCity challenge. I hope many others will join in.
@deepakjhic Lol… It’s great for me because I don’t have to try to explain how to add a signature!!! Less work for me!! Whoop! Whoop!! Thanks again for your post!
