This is the central station in the Frankfurt city and is considered as the second most busiest railway station in Germany. On an average this railway station serves approximately, 0.45 Million passengers/day. I boarded the beautiful Inter City Express (ICE) train to travel to Munich, Nuremberg and Hamburg from this main station. There were more than 10 station platforms and all of them were well maintained. This is one of the oldest station in Germany which was inaugurated during 1888.
Due to its strategic location (At the center of Europe) all the long-distance trains connects the city of Frankfurt to other major cities in the European Union. I found some good shops located inside the station area, especially the eateries and book stores. I found the seating area limited for the waiting passengers. Power outlets were placed in the waiting seats for mobile and laptop charging. Overall, The station was clean with good number of screens displaying the train schedule. At every platform an information chart was displaying the layout of the trains along with their routes in both German and English language. Bicycle parking is available in-front of the station gate. Ramps are provided for , baby strollers to access the main entrance of the station. Their are elevators placed inside the station for
to access the upper floor area.
