Four reasons why I love sharing photos in Google Maps

Hi Guys!
We all love contributing in Google Maps! Because of our small effort, we are making this world a better place as a whole. Let me not make this post a longer one, I will make this shorter. I am listing four reasons why I love sharing the places’ photos I have been to Google Maps. This is my personal opinion!

  1. Make this world a better place
The first and foremost reason, why I love uploading my photos in Google Maps is at least I am giving my small contribution towards making this world a little better. These days, people heavily rely on internet and more on Google and its products. Accurate and useful information on Google Maps will help many information seeker to get accurate information about place, know how it looks and make decision in advance.

  2. Google Maps suggests adding photos
This might sound funny but sometimes I forgot to post photos of the places I have been to Google Maps. Notification sent by Google Maps saves me! You also might have got notification reading something like: “Add photos of … to Google Maps”, then I upload photos.

  3. Previous photos weren’t sufficient enough
I rely on Google Maps to be to new place. Before visiting the place physically, I check their photos and reviews in Google Maps. But sometimes some places don’t have any photos or sufficient photos to quench my thirst of information need. So, after I visit the place, to help other people who look for information of the very place, I take some photos, and share them to Google Maps. Believe me this may seem like a nothing or very small task but this really helps others a lot.

  4. Impact Fascinates!

    Last of the list, IMPACT!

I am sure I am not the only one who feels excited and happy when the email Google Maps sends you occasionally with the latest report of your Google Maps contribution reading something like: “Your photos got … views.”, “These photos reached 50,000 views…”. Personally for me, after reading this report, I feel so contented and encouraged to contribute in Google Maps and help others!

What are the reasons for you? Does any reason from my list matches to yours? Comment down below!
Cheers for your time!
Keep contributing and Let’s make this world a better place!

I also enjoy having people viewing my photos all the time. It’s hard to believe I have over millions of viewers. I’m also stuck at level 8 for the moment. Do you find the gap of 50000 points hard to reach too?

Hi Peter,
To some extents, yes it’s a long gap but I think can be reached once you keep on contributing and contributing.
