For shortlisting your photograph on first few photos.

As you can see here is a photograph of a famous Shree ambabai temple Kolhapur nation India. This photograph is highlighted or shortlisted in the first few photos of this temple. do you know the reason behind it?

No worries I"ll tell you point-wise.

  1. You need to capture a photograph of a whole temple, with a proper angle, distance, timing & It should not be cut by any corner.

  2. Avoid the public which comes in the photograph, you can convey them to move away for a better photograph.

  3. Edit it for better chances of shortlisting.

  4. In addition to this add a detailed review.

  5. take the permission if it’s not allowed to capture a photograph.

  6. Add 2-3 photos at a time then the probability of shortlisting will increase.

  7. Go and find out new places it will help you to add more points.

Wow! Your featured Photo is iconic @Pramodnagmal . Thanks for sharing tips on how to take such photos

Now, that you have touched on this, I will invite Paul @PaulPavlinovich to have a discussion concerning these points you have shared.

One thing that many of us do not agree on is ‘editing’ Photos for Maps.

Also, I think this post is better suited to the “How Tos” topic Board so others can share and learn more about this and give their opinions or give a nod as to how your tips have helped them

Hi @Pramodnagmal there is no secret method for becoming featured or listed in the top few images. The algorithm chooses through a method that may as well be magic.

As for editing I strongly recommend that you make yourself familiar with the User Generated Content Policy especially Stylistic Adjustments which should be “minimal” to use the right word. You can read more at

https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7411351?hl=en&ref_topic=7422769#zippy=%2Cphotos-and-videos%2Cstylistic-adjustments

Your photo is nice, there are a few things I would change, but overall its nice. If you want photo feedback please let me know.

Yes ma’am, I’m from Maharashtra. currently living in Satara. I would like to work with yourcommunity. basically, I’m a civil engineer but exploring is my hobby :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @Pramodnagmal

I would like to add a comment to your point number 6. To be featured I recommend you upload only one photo to each place = your very best. If you manage to take the first/top spot (also called the cover photo) the photo views will start to go up like crazy.

Thanks for sharing your tips.

Cheers

Morten

Hi @Pramodnagmal

Do you still live in Satara?

We are organizing a meetup in Pune and also in Kolhapur.

Would you like to attend?

Please check the message here and respond to it.
