Hi Guys I’m Domenico but everybody call me Mimmo. (Level 8).
Im lucky to live in Puglia region, the heel of the boot of Italy, in the town of Gioia del Colle (a town located in the middle of region) full of gastronomy heritages. It’s a “foodie paradise”.
At the gate’s of the city there is a panel with this message: Welcome to Gioia del Colle the city of Mozzarella and Primitivo Wine; moreover this territory have a huge history from local ancient populations as Peuceti and then Greeks, Romans, Swebians (there is an awesome castle of king Frederick II). Foods in Puglia have a great value for the local economy. Cellars, dairy farms but also pasta laboratory, pastry and veggie producers. Main wine is Primitivo with the same DNA of Zinfandel because ancient apulian migrants brought it there. Many Apulians think the our region Puglia is like California because is the peninsula in the middle of Mediterraneam Sea, for that we have a big biodiversity and a great sense of hospitality.
Also the Sylvester Stallone’s family is from Gioia del Colle.
With Google Maps I can share this amazing enviromental. I know a lot of producers, farmers, farms, restaurants, cooks, shops and I love make photo shooting of dishes, products and locations. But I’0m in the middle of region and my family is involved in the food system from three generations so, my food relations are really large… not only in all Puglia region but also in the rest of Italy.
I hope to participating to Google Connect because I will learn, share and explore the next future. I’m not a “millennials” I’m 52 years old and my best tools are forks and spoon with a smartphone on a kitchen table with friends. I believe “food” is the best “social media” and never eat alone.
