Foodie Photographer - Sharing is Caring!

When I moved to Canada from Mexico 14 years ago, I thought (naïvely) that I had experienced all there was to see and taste in terms of ingredients and flavours. After all, traditional Mexican cuisine is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage.

Canada’s huge cultural diversity is, of course, also reflected in its food! Whenever I tried a “new-to-me” dish, I would snap a picture and send it to my family and friends in Mexico. It was my way of introducing them to all the new cuisines and flavours I was discovering (and that I am still discovering!).

Many of the dishes are made with similar ingredients that we use in Mexican gastronomy, but prepared so differently and delicious! For example, the tamarinds used in Indian cuisine for the yummy tamarind chutney are also used in Mexican cuisine for refreshing drinks and candy.

Just like I do with my family and loved ones, I am passionate about sharing photos and reviews on Google Maps of the food I eat. I know there are many people like me, waiting to discover new flavours, and maybe a photo or review will encourage them to try it sooner rather than later!

My current home, Calgary, has amazing gastronomy from all over the world, and I feel so fortunate to experience it on a regular basis. When traveling, I do research of local food places to visit. Like many, I rely on Google Maps and other guides (like me) for reviews and photos for recommendations!

I’m excited about all the dishes out there waiting to be tried and for their picture to be taken so I can share them with you!
