Every week (Monday to Sunday), food and drinks-related days are observed in many countries. We will mention some dates of a week that are related to the observance of food or drink of a country and you can participate in this weekly challenge every week. Please read this post or watch this video to know about the details/rules of this challenge if you are really interested to participate.
This week we have a lot of sweet foods and they will attract our sweet teeth LGs to participate. We have a lot of cake/pastry/pie this week. We have Irish Coffee that will attract our coffee lovers, no doubt. Peanut will attract our health-conscious LGs to come with some nice POI. Other foods of this week’s #FoodChallenge are also delicious and attractive to participate in.
This Bangladeshi Traditional Peanut Bar has a similarity with Peanut Brittle I think. This may be nostalgic for our South Asian Local Guides here.
This week (Jan.17 – Jan. 23) we have received 4 submissions in 2 categories. let’s see the result.
Combined: In this category Anika01 won the Trophy. POI submitted by Velvel and KamalhossenR won the Trophy in this category.
Coffee: In this category, Anika01 won the Trophy. POI submitted by Velvel and KamalhossenR won the Trophy in this category.
Big congratulations to the winners
We want to give special thanks to @LuigiZ Lugiz for sharing a nice dish of Peking Duck and @Radjasitanggang for sharing a nice photo of Black Coffee. We want to give special thanks to @KarenVChin and @Erna_LaBeau for sharing the nice experience of eating delicious Peking Duck. Our regular participant @SoniaK feels a little sick this week. We pray for her quick recovery so that she can join us within a very short time. Amen.
Congratulations! We are very much glad to get you among us @Anika01 . We will be eagerly waiting to see your nice submission in this week’s #FoodChallenge. If you want, you can submit POI for more than one food.
Physically Ok now, getting busy with my university exam. (Feb. 1 to Feb. 15). We missed you in the last two week’s #FoodChallenge@Designer_Biswajit Thanks a lot for your nice submission. Did we have Lobster in Aristocate Lounge?
Thanks for your reply. It’s good to know you’re physically ok now.
No, there were no lobsters in the The Aristocrat Lounge. Usually, in our country buffets do not have a lot of expensive food. In our country buffets attracts people by increasing the items with low priced food. Since lobster is one of the most expensive food, it is rarely seen in our country buffet. It sounds bad, but it’s true.
Anyway, last week I forgot to contribute. I hope I can continue in the future.
The number of foods is a business strategy @Designer_Biswajit . People here, are happy by eating the numbers, not the food . And the management of any buffet system knows this human psychology very well. That’s why they increased 3 less expensive with the same price of 1 expensive food. I think this strategy is maintained almost everywhere. Anyway, thanks a lot once again for your nice comments. Stay safe.
You are so right @MukulR . The peanut brittles are the ones we make in our country too. They are so yummy!
Ok, looking at the list, I am confused in which category I should join. I actually want to participate in all the categories, yes, that includes the notorious Irish Coffee too. But I will stick to just 2. As a Mexican food lover, I will take part in the National Corn Chips Day and the National Blueberry Pancake Day.
Mi Cocina is a Mexican chain restaurant in Texas. Like all other Mexican restaurants, they too welcome their customers with corn chips with salsa.
Blueberry pancake, or pancake in general, is a very popular breakfast food in America. Almost all the restaurants, that sell breakfast has pancakes in their menu. So does Denny’s. On our visit to Moab, UT, we actually got a chance to try their blueberry pancakes too. And I shared that experience in my review as well.
That lobster looks great, @Designer_Biswajit . I wonder how it taste though! Not all the restaurants can make good lobster thermidor. In most of the restaurants, they overcook the lobsters.
It’s not just in Bangladesh, lobsters are expensive everywhere. In fact, lobsters are not in buffet everywhere either, because of their price. The places that keep lobsters in their buffet are pretty expensive too. Boston Lobster Feast, for example, is one of them. Their buffet is $50 for all-you-can-eat lobsters. Well, it’s not just lobster, but that’s their specialty.
I agree with @MukulR , in our country, when we go to a buffet, we don’t really look forward to the ‘food’ but the number in the buffet. ‘101 items buffet’ sounds more appealing than ‘best lobster in town buffet’. It is indeed a marketing strategy.
Hi Mukul, never got a chance to ask how you are doing. I knew you were not doing well. But it just skipped my mind. Apologies for that.
Thank you so much for sharing some more delicious food day with us. Another interesting thing is that Peanut Butter was my favorite food among these food which is very nice to me after seeing your post.
I always delete photos from Google Photos so looking there was not an option ,the first place that came to my mind was Intimo Cabrito, here’s a picture of their Guacamole with corn chips, I’m sure I have uploaded photos from different places with better looking Guacamole
Thanks for your nice submission @SoniaK Apu. I am physically OK now and doing well. I hope you are also doing great. Thanks for your comments on the number of foods in the buffet. I love the nice photo of the lobster from theBoston Lobster Feast. It really looks huge and seems delicious. I am sharing a photo of shrimp curry for you and @Designer_Biswajit . I hope both of you will like it. Shrimp Bhuna with onion really tastes good.
Oh my god, those shrimps look scrumptious and superlicious! I can just dig in to that plate right now if it is in front of me. Sadly, I don’t cook much of desi food at home nowadays due to it’s very strong aroma (I prefer to say it aroma, which is actually referred as strong smell by the other non-desi people). One day of desi cooking, and the house smells of it for the rest of the week. No matter how many candles you light or how frequently you spray the air freshener. But this bowl of deliciousness is making me crave for shrimp so badly that I might have to make the house smell again tomorrow. Thank you @MukulR for sharing the shrimps. I am not going to share it with anyone if I made some tomorrow though. Yes, when it comes to shrimp, I can be very selfish.
I am very much glad to know that you love the Peanut Butter @KamalHossenR bhai. Thanks a lot for your nice submission and continuous support of this #FoodChallenge. Stay safe
